Choosing a suitable username

If you are new to PokerStars, welcome! Here are a few tips for picking an alias fit for the world's most popular poker tables:

• It can't be offensive, inappropriate, similar in name to any of our Pros, or already in use by another player.
• Don't include your surname or any other personal details.
• It can have up to 15 characters, including letters, numbers, spaces, and hyphens.
• Stick to characters from the standard Latin alphabet A-Z.
• Avoid letters with accents.
• Poker puns are encouraged!

How to recover a forgotten username

If you forget your username, follow these steps to recover it:

1. Select the 'Login' button in our software or on the website.
2. Select 'Forgot password?'.
3. Enter the registered email address.
4. Hit 'Send'.
5. If you've submitted a valid email address, we'll send you a reminder of your username.
6. Please don't try to open a new account if you've forgotten your username.

Can I change my PokerStars username?

We're sorry, but we don't allow players on our platform to change their usernames. This is because the more you play against someone, the better you know their style of play and how to react to it. Are they a loose player? Do they love to bluff? Or perhaps their style is tight, and they always play the odds.

Multiple usernames would allow players to hide behind a new identity. They could then use their experience of others' game to beat them. An actual brick-and-mortar poker room wouldn't allow you to change your identity. It's not allowed on our platform either.

Difference between account and username

Each player on PokerStars has only one account with one username. Only having one username makes your PokerStars experience much smoother and easier to manage:

• One username and one password. You only need to remember one username and password to play on any of our brands. We offer poker, sports, and casino, depending on your region.
• One wallet and one account balance. Managing your payment methods will be much easier.
• One set of details and account settings. If you need to change the address on your account or add a PIN or security token, you'll only need to do it once.
