SURE THING (4) gave nothing else a sniff first-up over 1100m when running away to win by 5.4L in a dominant first-up victory. The rise in trip is no issue and he has the speed to offset the wide alley. Can go on with the job following a dominant first-up victory. DEMETRIOUS (2) has raced over further than 1300m, so this trip is no issue and he draws a much better gate this time. He finished off strongly here last start but with a closer position in running, he can bounce back to winning form. MARYBEE (5) is hard to knock on recent form as she's been right in the finish throughout this campaign. She finished just ahead of Demetrious last start and that looks like strong form. Expecting her to go close once again. UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY (1) will need a touch of luck from the deep, though if he'll be tough to catch if he can roll to the front. RUM 'N' GINGER (3) has claims on recent form.
