Small but competitive field. MAURIZMA (1) missed the kick then made up plenty of late ground to grab second last start on a heavy track at Grafton over the mile. Back in grade today and Cahill reunites after winning at his only ride on the mare two back. The testing material. Lightly raced four-year-old ELLRO (6) won her maiden first-up then stepped up to 1410m at Grafton last time but left her run too late and finished second at $1.80. Looks ready for this longer trip and looms as the clear danger. ROTHESAY'S RUBY (8) raced handy but was no match for the winner at her latest appearance over 1600m at Coffs Harbour. Won here at this trip in a much weaker race three runs back. Solid top three hope. MISS UCHITEL (2) made it two wins from three this campaign when comfortably home over a similar journey at Lismore on 20 October. May need this run but she is a good fresh performer so should be kept safe. WONDERLAND STAR (3) is fitter for three runs back and needs this trip.
