PROPHET'S MAGIC (3) missed the kick but recovered to win his maiden first-up at Gundagai. Was again slow out of the machine then worked home well for fourth last start over this trip at the Sapphire Coast. Good enough to take this out. DARK VADOR (4) hasn't won for over a year but gets his chance. Beaten under a length here at this distance two runs ago then got back and failed to figure last time at Mudgee. Major player if near his best. GECKO COIN (2) improved significantly last start when first-up from a nine-week let-up, working through the line well to be beaten just over a length in an 1100m Class 1 at Narromine. Strips fitter and ready for this longer journey. AMANTAKA (5) has found the line with purpose in her two runs this prep over shorter trips. Should be peaking this afternoon. TAKEOVER ARTIST (1) resumes. Tackled better races than this last prep so must be respected.
