CHARCOALS (1) is a progressive three-year-old who was too good as a $2.05 favourite over this track and distance first up, scoring by 1.3 lengths. He's now won his past two and looks capable of going through the grades. ROYAL LASS (8) was behind Charcoals last time and does get a weight swing on that horse for a relatively small margin defeat. She should be hard to hold out. KRYSANOVA (3) resumes from a short spell. Her last three runs have all been over the Moonee Valley 955m and while she's been off the mark there, she can improve and should take catching. DIRTY GRIN (6) resumes. He's a consistent sort who will be better over a touch further but has the figures to suggest he can be competitive. SPICY MARGS (7) was solid fresh and is in the mix.
