HIYAAM PROUD (8) looks the one to beat. First up at Geelong he ran well for second behind Oh Too Good, who ran a huge race in the Country Final at Flemington, Hiyaam Proud also ran very well there for fourth and gets every chance from the good gate. SURE (7) is a progressive type who has just missed as favourite in both runs this time in. A stronger tempo to run at will suit him, as will the slight rise in trip. OUR COUVER (9) worked home well over 1600m at Mornington in a decent race last time out. He was well beaten by Hiyaam Proud at Geelong but wasn't bad that day and draws well. NOTABADBUY (4) beat Sure at Bendigo fresh and will give them something to catch again. HAARACAINE (2) has the ability but drops sharply in trip.
