The maidens kick us off. Former Moody/Coleman galloper VENDEMMIA (6) has been plying his trade in harder races down south and should find this assignment much more to his liking. Revved up for this with a recent Gold Coast trial victory and a strong showing while fresh would not surprise. SIMPLY EXCELS (2) just missed the placings here on debut before being tipped out for time to furnish. Gets the deadly Gollan/Orman combination and cannot be discounted. CASTERLY ROCK (3) is another having his first run for the new stable but will find this easier than what he faced in NSW. Keep a close eye on market moves. The well-related TEN GOOD REASONS (9) (half to G2 winner and 2xG1 placed Osipenko) wasn't disgraced in town on debut and is sure to have come on with that run now under the belt. Top-three credentials. MALOTRU (8) has hit the top five in four of his past five outings and is one for the multiples.
