DIAMOND RIDGE (6) overcame difficulties to get up and win two back at Tumut. Settled back from a wide gate then wound up nicely to grab third last start over 1280m at Orange. Gets to seven furlongs for the first time which looks the right move. Will be hard to hold out. PERUNO (2) hasn't been far away at all four runs this prep. Carried the same weight in a BM58 here at this trip two back and was beaten just three lengths. Major player in this much weaker race. FAR TOO HOT (1) has won back-to-back 1400m BM58 races at Nowra, leading from the outset on each occasion. Goes up sharply in the weights but won't find this as tough. Great chance to chalk up the hat trick. SPIRITED KING (12) resumed with a decent effort at Yass last start. Yet to prove himself at this distance but from gate one he is an each-way chance down in the weights. RAGER (9) has finished top three at his last four runs so must go in the exotics.
