ARALETTA (6) would have frustrated connections in the debut campaign with four minor placings from as many starts, but they were in some handy maidens. Hit the line hard in a recent Pakenham jumpout in a showing that suggested she's primed to break the duck here. THE SECRET (9) will be no pushover, though. Trained at Cranbourne and only start to date realised a placing in a metro maiden. The fact she can put herself on-speed could prove advantageous, too. ETOILE FILANTE (2) showed good improvement from the debut run to start No 2 so must be considered. His stablemate UNIVERSAL HARMONY (1) has had a few more tries but has been in the money six times from 10 starts, including a narrow second two back, so he's clearly good enough to give this a shake. The race drops off after those four with TENSILE (4) looking best of the rest but it's hard to see him winning given he's yet to place in five starts.
