Competitive 955m race. BEAST MODE (2) went down to Tasmania first-up and ran well on the Devonport Synthetic over 1009m, beaten a nose by the progressive and talented Durazzo. He's got a strong second-up record and should go close. PERILOUS FIGHTER (8) looks well placed coming back from the Listed WJ Adams Stakes at Sandown Lakeside, finishing third there. This is first go at Moonee Valley but if the gaps come he can be too strong late. UNFLINCHING (1) resumes for a new stable. He hasn't been at his best for a while now but if he were to find it, he'd likely beat these. Wary. HOLY RACKET (6) was just fair fresh at Sandown Lakeside over 1200m but is a multiple winner over this route and can improve quickly. OAK HILL (7) won an easier heat of this series fresh and is building a nice record. Respect.
