MARKDEL (8) resumes off a strong trial win at Cranbourne. He's promised good ability in five runs to date, finishing close behind some talented types. The only run last time in at this track was just fair but he looks to have come back well and can break through here. EXCELINDEED (3) resumes. He's placed in three of four runs to date, beaten as a very short-priced favourite at Wyong fresh last time in. He'll be up on speed and take plenty of catching. GINA'S A STAR (12) is a filly by Starspangledbanner on debut for the Mitch Freedman yard. She looked good winning a recent trial and draws nicely with Jye McNeil aboard. ANTIQUATED (1) is a gelding by Kermadec on debut who has won a jump-out and can figure. BRUTALRULE (2) has been solid in two runs to date and rates an each-way hope.
