DECCAN ODYSSEY (5) met with good support on debut last start over 1000m at Ballarat but couldn't go with them in the straight and wound up in sixth. Will improve with that run under the belt and an extra furlong should work in his favour. IL AMERICANA (9) returned from a 20-week spell for a new stable last time out and really caught the eye, making up many lengths to finish third over this trip at Echuca. That was a massive improvement on what she showed last prep so is worth following. LIGHT UP THE CITY (10) failed to fire when fresh from a six-month spell recently over this journey at Benalla. Can improve in a race without too many genuine hopes. BREAKLESS (1) made late ground to grab second when resuming over 975m at this track 26 days ago. Subsequent trial winner who should be there at the business end with luck from an awful gate. Debutant WYMAN LAKE (14) placed in a recent Avoca trial. Keep an eye on the betting.
