Consistent five-year-old FIFTY FIVE MUSTANG (1) has turned in a couple of sound efforts this prep and is ready to peak. Made a late charge but missed by just under a length last start over 1300m at Canberra. Perfectly placed out to this distance and only needs a bit of luck from a poor gate to be taking this out. SWINGING HIGH (6) stalked the pace then was far too good in a 1500m maiden here last Saturday. Took a long while to hit her straps but she can win again on the quick turnaround. HOOKHAM (3) has had a four-week break since failing over 1800m at Gundagai. Can improve back in this more suitable contest with the blinkers removed. BATTLE FLEET (2) boxed on fairly for a midfield finish when resuming over 1300m at Canberra last time out. Placed 2/2 second-up so he is open to plenty of improvement. JEDINAK (7) was outclassed first-up at Moonee Valley. Capable of a much better run.
