COUNT NICHOLAS (5) was placed on this course in his penultimate start and then was a beaten favourite at the Gold Coast just over 3 weeks ago when stepping up to 1300m. He slides back down in class, and with a return to 1100m, he can take this out. Follow your money. THROWIN SHADE (1) was too good as expected fresh up on the Gold Coast poly track and then was fifth in a stronger field at Doomben last time out. He is nicely placed in this, and with the aid of a 2kg claim, he will be hard to hold out. GUERRERA (10) has needed both of his runs back from a spell and seems to prefer a good track. The blinkers coming off may help, and she is ready to put her best hoof forward. APOLLO TEN (9) is building his fitness and will find this easier than his last start at the Gold Coast. He has a reasonable draw in a big field and is another who is capable of a top 3 finish. HIT (11) ran on nicely when finishing third at the Gold Coast a month ago, and the extra 100m could make all the difference.
