The G1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes. JIMMYSSTAR (7) returns to Caulfield where he's won 3/3, dominant in fast time two back over this route before going to Flemington and getting too far back in a dash home, running strong closing splits. The big field and strong tempo here will suit, he just needs luck from barrier one. ANOTHER WIL (4) beat Jimmy at Flemington and did it after being held up in the straight, sprinting very well when clear. He's 1.5kg worse off this time but draws perfectly and will take a power of beating. BUFFALO RIVER (9) hadn't found his best for some time but ran much better here last time, working hard on speed and looking the winner in the straight. He's one that could bob up at odds. WAR MACHINE (15) was good in the Golden Eagle and drops nicely in weight for this. SOUTHPORT TYCOON (1) was just behind War Machine last time but does pay the penalty as a 2x Group 1 winner here.
