CHORLTON LANE (4) has remarkably drawn barrier one in his past four starts, and he's been narrowly beaten in all of them. They've all been good runs, beaten under a length by Duke De Sessa last week, but 1400m at Flemington should be far more suitable. AZTEC RULER (5) ran well in the G3 Standish Handicap at his Melbourne debut before an even effort in the Barton Stakes last time. He's consistent and should be getting into the finish. ATTRITION (1) resumes. He's the class horse in the race having started $4.80 at Group 1 level in Perth before a spell. Drawn wide, 62kg at 1400m will make it tough but don't dismiss entirely. JUST FOLK (2) was good fresh in the Supernova. Kept fresh for this, he should be competitive. POISON CHALICE (9) found the Australia Stakes too sharp last time, getting to 1400m is far more suitable.
