Verdict
Interesting race. If PLACE DU CARROUSEL (10) was anywhere near her best, she'd win this easily with the lightweight of 53kg. Under these conditions she's thrown in, but her two runs in the Spring left a bit to be desired, albeit against top company. She's won a trial leading in and might be able to find her best which saw her beaten 1.3 lengths by Via Sistina in a G1 Ranvet Stakes. STEPARTY (7) continues to race very well without winning, placing in the G1 CF Orr Stakes behind Another Wil and Mr Brightside last time out which is obviously top form. Gets to a mile now and will be rock hard fit. Can break through. Speaking of fit, MARBLE ARCH (11) won't get many better chances to win at this level. She ran well in the G3 JRA Plate behind Duke De Sessa last time and gets in with 53kg. JUST FOLK (2) has been good in two runs back and has claims while ZARDOZI (4) did enough fresh and any rise in trip will suit the classy mare.
