ALVARINHO (2) has been freshened following a near miss in the Listed Tasmanian Newmarket. Finally jumps from an inside barrier and flies this course/distance. Won this race last year and can add to that record. MAWALLOCK (3) represents a canny Victorian yard that successfully targets Tasmanian races. Won an Open at Ararat and then didn't have the best of it in an Open 3 at Cranbourne. Kersley comes to ride and tipping she's good enough. ANYWAYS ROXIE (9) is speedy and hasn't missed in four starts this preparation. This is harder but she keeps improving and Pires will use an inside barrier. ARUMA (5) and JAGUAR STONE (1) are racing well but this is a step up.
