SAND 'N' POWER (6) peaks and has just missed his last two in provincial company. Maps for a soft run and McGuren goes aboard. He's the one they have to beat. NATIONAL GOAL (1) won a trial and was close up at Ipswich on debut. He will have taken fitness and leaning and briefly freshened can make the finish. VICTORY MELODY (4) resumed well-supported at Ipswich and had no luck. Draws awkwardly but the longer sprint suits and the 2kg claim is handy. Expect quick improvement. VOLCANIC PARK (7) was cruelled by a wide gate on debut. Draws well today and has the first-time blinkers applied. Looker goes on and a better effort is likely. DEEBEE'S GIRL (8) has a wide gate but showed enough first-up to consider.
