PIRATE (4) has warmed to his task nicely over the concluding stages in his two runs back without threatening. Peaking now as he steps out in trip and finally draws a gate. Gets his chance. SYNCHRO (6) failed to live up to market expectation on debut before heading straight back to the paddock. Looks to have progressed nicely during the break, stripping fitter for two trials. Pannell sticks from recent trial and boasts a good strike rate with combining with Hickmott. Inside draw another bonus. LORD VALEN (2) comes through two hot maidens. Will need some luck from the draw but gets in well at the weights with the 2kg claimer engaged. HOT STRUT (11) was much better last start when missing by a neck at Naracoorte. Tougher this time but has Opperman sticking. COLLATED (1) strips fitter fourth-up and can sneak into the frame.
