MERCHANT LADY (5) has found the line well without threatening in her two runs this prep, the latest when third over 1250m at Newcastle. Nicely placed today and the step up in trip looks a good move. Ready to win. SMARTER THAN YOU (9) travelled just off the speed then let down well but found one better when second-up last time out over 1460m at Queanbeyan. Form at this stage of the prep reads a lot better so expect her to improve off that last performance. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE (3) hasn't won for nearly a year but is nicely graded to make an impact today. Struggled in the Queanbeyan Cup last time after a close third in a BM82 over 1300m here the run prior. Definite contender. SEA OF FLAMES (1) disappointed in the Narromine Cup last start. Must be given another chance as he loves racing here, with three wins and a couple of placings from six visits. WESTERN FRONT (8) wasn't far away first-up over 1300m at this track and his second-up form is far better.
