SINGER SARGENT (1) resumed further improved narrowly beaten here in Open grade. He's proven second-up, and the 3kg claim helps offset some of the extra weight. Two of his three wins have come here, and the step up to the mile is ideal. HUSSY EMPRESS (11) did a good job when beaten 2.6L in stronger at Doomben. She missed a whisker twice at Gatton prior and is hard fit for a testing wet-track assignment. HOOKS (6) led and won a 60 here easily over this distance. Uses an inside gate and will take pegging back. PARIS AFFAIR (5) has needed the two runs back. He can show more over the longer trip.
